After a very successful season for us and the winner being decided on the final game. It is inevitable that the roster doors begin to rotate.
We have added some speed and strength to our squad this season. Paralyimpian Stephen ‘Boochie’ Thomas and huskies longtime member has took a spot in defence and ex phantoms player Josh Cambell covering a place on the wing. The new boys have slotted in to the team very quickly and we feeling positive with how they are growing as players within our squad.
With new additions, we have some unfourtunate farewells. After a fine performance in nets with a near shut out all season we say goodbye to Alex Weaver. A comical character in the locker room who will be missed by the whole squad. Laura Mabin & Tess Edwards have took some time out from playing this season, while also coach Jamo has also decided to take a back seat this year to concentrate on other projects.
We also give a fond farewell to one of the old guard Tim James. Tim has been playing for the Huskies for a large part of its existence, give or take a few-off seasons (some planned, some were decided by refs! :) ) Earlier on in his hockey career he represented Great Britain and was a major force on the ice. His electric pace and always had an edge Tim will be missed. Especially for our game team huddles screaming “Come On” at very high decibels.
After doing a u-turn on retiring Russell Wiley has decided to move to netminder and continue to offer his fantastic hockey services for another season. This giving space to Paul Furber to take over the captains badge and Andy Swinfen & Tyler Christopher picking up assistant roles.
To all the players leaving our ranks, we want to say a big thank you for your services to the squad and good luck for your future projects.
